Welcome to the Pueblo West High School Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Rifle and Drill Team pages! These teams are unique in that you have to be enrolled in the JROTC program in order to participate. Our mission in JROTC is to "motivate young people to become better citizens." We do this by offering leadership roles and responsibilities to the cadets through out the year. We also spend considerable amounts of time volunteering with in the community. There is no military service obligation attached to JROTC. Once the cadets graduate they can go on to college or to the work force , or join the service, but there is absolutely no obligation that they join. For more information or to check out some more of what we do please visit our web site at,
Rifle team has three levels Varsity, Junior Varsity, and a New Shooters league. The rifle season is in the fall and runs from October thru December. Our program is part of the Southern Colorado Rifle League, and we compete against all the District 60 High Schools, County High School, Fountain Fort Carson High School, and Canon City High School. Throughout the season we also compete in tournaments both here in Pueblo and in Colorado Springs. As we continue to grow our program and become more competitive our goal is to make it to nationals in the next couple of years.
